What is the placard sign made of?
Slate. It will crack if dropped to the floor. 

What are the letters made of?
I use permanent vinyl Orcal 651 on the Slate signs.

All fonts used have been purchased and licensed for commercial use and I have all kinds.
 
Can the signs be placed under direct sun and rain?
Yes, I have had my sign directly under the sun and rain for many years and it is still in good shape. Just don't drop it, it's slate, it'll crack. 

Is the sign as easy to make as it looks?
Honestly, no it isn't that easy.  It does take A LOT of time, patience, and a lot of wasted vinyl to create a perfect sign. I always make sure that it is perfect.
